Online petitions are like Woolworths' gift vouchers: worthless. They carry about as much weight as Kate Moss and are generally organised by gormless pricks who've got nothing better to do inbetween Jeremy Kyle and Neighbours.
Enter Sheff Utd fan, Jamie, who's started a petition to get Martin Samuel sacked from his new job at The Daily Mail because "he surely is a closet West Ham supporter and always publishes false wrong doings in the national newspaper regarding the Blades".
Memo to Jamie: Martin Samuel's pinned his colours to the West Ham mast more times than he's had hot dinners. Which, judging by the size of the man, is about four times a day. He's about as "in the closet" as Graham Norton.
Not to mention the fact that false wrong-doings is a double negative - but then they've probably not covered such advanced linguistics on Trisha yet.
Anyhow, the petition has found its way on to the West Ham forums, and now includes signatories such as Flatcap McPitclose, Doris Saggytit and Sister shat in my tea.
Petition. Fail.
